Custom Honor Society Graduation Stoles for High Schools & Colleges
Why advisors switch to custom honor society stoles
Every senior class has a chart of which honor societies they belong to, and every May the question is the same: who’s ordering the stoles, when do they arrive, and why did NHS stoles show up in the wrong color again. The schools that have this dialed in run one consolidated order through one supplier with one advisor signing off for all societies. The schools that don’t have it dialed in are coordinating across eight different national chapter websites, six different shipping providers, and two different artwork standards — with the ceremony in 18 days.
Custom honor society graduation stoles solve the coordination problem. Your school sends us the roster of which societies you need, the count for each, and the school’s preferred color/material spec. We produce all of them together, embroider the right insignia for each, and ship one box with everything sorted and tagged by society.
What societies we make stoles for
We carry licensed and licensure-equivalent insignia for the major academic honor societies and a long list of subject-specific ones. Common ones on a typical senior graduation order: National Honor Society (NHS), National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), Beta Club, Quill and Scroll, Mu Alpha Theta, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, French Honor Society (Société Honoraire de Français), Science National Honor Society, English Honor Society, Rho Kappa, and many more.
If your school recognizes a society we don’t have on file, send us the insignia and the use authorization from the national chapter. We can embroider any society for which you have permission to reproduce the emblem.
What to customize on an honor society graduation stole
| Element | Options | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Base stole color | 26 colors | Society standard or school colors |
| Society emblem | Embroidered or printed | Embroidered is the standard for honors |
| Year | Embroidered (e.g., “2026”) | Most schools include the graduation year |
| Name | Optional, individually embroidered | Adds 5 business days to lead time |
| Edge style | Plain, tassel, fringe, cord | National chapter may specify |
For societies with strict color guidance from the national chapter (NHS uses blue and gold; many subject-specific societies have their own colors), we’ll match those exactly. For societies where the school chooses, most schools use the school’s primary color so the graduation photos show one consistent palette.
Bulk pricing for school orders
| Quantity | Per-stole tier | Typical order |
|---|---|---|
| 12–25 | Tier 3 | Single society in a small school |
| 26–75 | Tier 2 | Multi-society in a mid-size high school |
| 76–200 | Tier 1 | Multi-society in a large high school |
| 200+ | Custom contract | District-wide or college order |
Mixed societies in a single order all roll up into the same tier. You don’t have to hit 26 NHS stoles to get the mid-tier price — 26 total stoles across all your societies counts.
We can still ship on time. Send the society counts — we’ll confirm production feasibility within one business day.
Lead time and the graduation calendar
Standard production for custom honor society graduation stoles is 3 weeks from approved artwork, plus shipping. The clean version of the graduation calendar puts your order in our queue by mid-April for a late-May ceremony.
What actually happens: the advisor doesn’t know the final roster of which seniors qualify for each society until the late April honor roll is finalized, which puts the realistic order date 3–4 weeks before ceremony. We handle this every year. As long as the order is in our queue by the start of the third week before graduation, we can hit the date with no surcharge. Inside that window, we move to rush production with a small surcharge.
Procurement and the school business office
Honor society stoles are usually paid for one of three ways: the school’s general fund, the society’s chapter dues, or individual student purchase. Each requires a different invoicing approach.
For school-funded orders, we invoice the district business office against your PO, net-30. We have a W-9 on file and can provide insurance documentation. For chapter-funded orders, we invoice the advisor’s account or the chapter’s checking account directly. For student-pay orders, we can run a private storefront in the school’s branding where each student pays for their own stole at a fixed per-stole price you set — the school doesn’t handle money at all.
FAQ for honor society advisors
What’s the minimum order?
12 stoles for the bulk-pricing tier. Below 12, we can still make stoles — the per-stole price is just slightly higher because we’re not running the production efficiently.
Can we mix societies in one order?
Yes, and we recommend it. One artwork-approval cycle, one production run, one box arriving at your office. Sort by society on arrival.
What if our roster changes after we order?
If a student is added before production starts, no problem — just send the update. If a student is added after production, we can produce a single add-on stole on rush. The single-stole price is higher than the bulk rate, but it’s better than that student not having one.
Can the stoles be reused next year?
The undated stoles can. We offer both year-embroidered (“Class of 2026”) and undated stoles. Many advisors order undated stoles for the society and the school keeps them for the next year’s class, which makes the per-year cost much lower.
Do you offer student-name embroidery?
Yes. Add 5 business days to the timeline. We need the name list in a spreadsheet with the spelling exactly as the student wants it on the stole.
What about double or triple society members?
Students who belong to two or three honor societies can wear multiple stoles (this is the most common solution), or one combined stole with multiple emblems. We can do either. Most schools default to multiple individual stoles because they look cleaner in photos.
Does the national society chapter have to approve the design?
For most major societies the answer is no — the school orders directly and we use the standard licensed insignia. For a few societies (rare), the national chapter does require pre-approval. We’ll let you know during the quote.
How do you ship?
One box per school by default, packed flat, sorted by society and counted on the packing slip. If you want individual poly bags for distribution at the senior breakfast, add it to the quote.
What if the ceremony is rained out and rescheduled?
The stoles are yours either way. We’ll work with you if any need replacement, but a rain delay doesn’t affect the order itself.
Email us a list of societies and student counts. We’ll send back a written quote with shipping included and a guaranteed delivery date.
Custom honor society graduation stoles are produced to school order and cannot be returned once personalized. Production lead times reflect typical timelines from approved artwork; rush options are available throughout the graduation season for an additional fee.
